Ruslan Savchenko's review of the book1 “Double fold technology. Roof pipes and penetrations "
"The first half of the book is the basic units for pipes, for penetrations in German technology. In our school" Savros "this material belongs to the basic seminar.
The second half of the book reflects the Scandinavian school. Initially, as a master and as a teacher, everything seemed familiar to me and everything is simple. And when you see everything familiar, it initially seems that you cannot learn anything new, you are already smart ум
When I plunged into reading the book, I got the impression that I was holding a textbook from a technical university and, as a technician, I enjoy reading the book. And the further I read the book, about how to cut long familiar certain knots, I stalled ... Then I realized the reason for my "stupor". I have my own accumulated experience, quite well-established. I do the calculations in a certain way. And in the book I saw other methods, I saw well-known nodes assembled in a different way.
The second half of the book is a parsing of nodes that were familiar to me, but rather superficially. They meet, and it seems at first glance that everything is quite simple. You do not make these knots, for various reasons. One of the reasons is that you think that your basic list is enough to complete most of the designs. Or the reason may be that the roof configuration does not allow for certain types of nodes.
Having started to study the knots outlined in the second half of book 1 "Double seam technology. Pipes and penetrations on the roof", you understand how many nuances you need to know and take into account in order to really get a good result. The sequence of assembling the assembly, allowances, tolerances - all this is described in the book clearly and intelligibly. But, having studied the material, you understand that the book contains so much information that it is impossible to repeat the node collection algorithm in a few months, in a year, without referring to the book. Making these knots you will take a book every time and check it like a primer.
For myself, I made the following conclusion - that this book is both a primer and a textbook for a university.
Who will benefit from the book?
In my opinion, the book is more aimed at advanced roofers, but it is also suitable for beginners. The book may be useful for the "guild".
